Network Design, Setup & Support

A slow, unreliable, or insecure network isn’t just an inconvenience, it’s a direct drag on your business. Dropped VoIP calls, sluggish file transfers, ransomware entering through an open port, employees who can’t reliably connect from home: these problems cost real money, and they’re almost always preventable with the right infrastructure from the start.

Your network is the foundation of everything

BitNetica designs and installs business networks for small and mid-sized companies throughout McHenry County and the surrounding area. We work with enterprise-grade hardware (Cisco, HPE/Aruba, and Ubiquiti) and configure every component with security and reliability as the baseline, not an afterthought.

Whether you’re moving into a new office, expanding to a second location, replacing aging equipment, or finally untangling a network that’s been patched together over the years, we’ll assess your environment honestly and propose a solution that actually fits your business, not the most expensive one on the shelf.

Why choose BitNetica?

Business-grade networking built for reliability and security from day one. Cisco, HPE, and Ubiquiti infrastructure: designed, deployed, and supported by a local expert who knows your setup and answers the phone when something goes wrong.

Every layer. Every location.

  • Wired infrastructure: switching and routing built to current standards
  • Wireless networks: full-coverage business Wi-Fi with no dead zones
  • Firewall configuration: pfSense, Fortinet FortiGate, and Cisco ASA
  • Secure remote access: VPN and MFA for remote and hybrid teams
  • Multi-building and multi-location topologies: one unified network across sites
  • Monitoring and ongoing support: issues caught before they cause downtime

Our process

  • 1 · Discovery call: free consultation to understand your current setup, what’s not working, and what you actually need. No jargon, no pressure, just a straight conversation with the person who’ll do the work.
  • 2 · On-site assessment: Abe walks your space, reviews your existing equipment, tests wireless coverage, and identifies any security gaps or bottlenecks before a single recommendation is made.
  • 3 · Plain-English proposal: a clear scope of work, flat-rate pricing, and honest recommendations, even when the honest answer is that you just need a configuration change on existing gear.
  • 4 · Deployment and handoff: professional installation scheduled to minimize disruption. Thorough testing before we leave. Full documentation so you always know what’s running, how it’s configured, and why.

Built for businesses like yours

  • Medical & dental offices: HIPAA-aware network segmentation, guest Wi-Fi isolation, and reliable connectivity for EHR systems and VoIP, without interrupting patient care
  • Professional services: law firms, accountants, and financial advisors that need rock-solid uptime, encrypted remote access, and networks that meet compliance requirements
  • Manufacturers & warehouses: hardened wired and wireless networks across large floor plans, with separate VLANs for production systems, office staff, and IoT or OT devices
  • Remote & hybrid teams: secure VPN access, MFA, and a network designed to handle remote connections without risk
  • Growing SMBs: companies outgrowing consumer-grade gear, ready for infrastructure that scales without enterprise prices
  • Multi-location businesses: retail chains, franchises, or any business with more than one site, unified on a single managed network with consistent policies at every location

Ready for a network you never have to think about? Book a free discovery call and we’ll take an honest look at your setup.

Documentation you own

Every network we build is delivered with documentation: a network map, labeled ports and cables, device credentials in a secure handoff, and a plain-English summary of how everything is configured and why. If a provider ever tells you documentation is “proprietary,” they’re holding your own network hostage. Ours belongs to you from day one, which also means any future technician can support what we built without starting from scratch.

Security is the baseline, not an add-on

A business network in 2026 has to assume attack. That’s why segmentation, guest isolation, MFA on management interfaces, disabled default credentials, and scheduled firmware updates are part of every deployment, not a premium tier. Your point-of-sale traffic shouldn’t share a network with the guest Wi-Fi; your security cameras shouldn’t be reachable from the internet; and your firewall shouldn’t be running three-year-old firmware. These are the quiet details that decide whether a ransomware attempt becomes a headline or a log entry.

Wireless gets the same rigor. Instead of guessing at access-point placement, we survey your actual space (walls, interference, device density) and design coverage for how your team really works, from the front office to the warehouse racks to the parking lot if you need it. The difference between four access points placed by measurement and four placed by hope is the difference between Wi-Fi you forget about and Wi-Fi you fight with daily.

FAQ

Network Design, Setup & Support: common questions

What types of businesses do you set up networks for?

BitNetica works with small and mid-sized businesses across McHenry County, Lake County, and the surrounding area — including medical and dental offices, law firms, accountants, manufacturers, warehouses, retail locations, and professional services firms. If you need a reliable, secure business network, we can help regardless of industry or building type.

What networking brands and equipment do you work with?

We design and deploy networks using Cisco, HPE/Aruba, and Ubiquiti UniFi equipment for switching, routing, and wireless. For firewall and security appliances, we work with pfSense, Fortinet FortiGate, and Cisco ASA. The right choice depends on your budget, environment, and long-term needs — we'll recommend what actually makes sense for your situation, not what has the best margin.

Can you connect multiple buildings or office locations as one network?

Yes — multi-building and multi-site networking is one of our specialties. Depending on your locations and requirements, we can connect them via point-to-point wireless links (ideal for buildings within line of sight), dedicated fiber runs, or SD-WAN over existing internet connections. The result is a unified network with consistent security policies and centralized management across all your locations.

Do you offer ongoing support and monitoring after the network is installed?

Yes. BitNetica offers proactive monitoring, firmware and security patch management, and ongoing support — on either a retainer or as-needed basis. We monitor your network for issues and alert you before they cause downtime. And if something breaks, you call Abe directly — same-day local response is the standard, not the exception.

How much does business network setup cost?

It depends on the size and complexity of your environment. A single-floor office with 20 users is a very different project from a multi-building campus with 150. After a free on-site assessment, we provide a detailed, flat-rate proposal — no hourly estimates that balloon into surprise invoices. We'll also tell you honestly if there's a simpler solution that costs less than you might expect.

Can you work with existing equipment, or does everything need to be replaced?

Often we can. We'll assess your existing equipment during the site visit and give you an honest evaluation of what's worth keeping, what needs reconfiguration, and what genuinely needs replacing. We're not in the business of recommending new hardware just to sell hardware — if your switches are solid and just misconfigured, we'll say so.
